Darjeeling Black Tea

Assam Black Tea
$15.00 – $16.00Assam Tea is grown in lower elevations than most teas in the famed Assam Region in Northeastern India. Only the flowery leaf from the very tip of the branch is harvested to deliver the highest graded quality possible.
Our Assam Tea is hand harvested in May and June to allow the tea leaves to develop golden-colored tips that produce a sweeter, spicy and malty flavor. No aromatic oils. Just pure Assam Black Tea.
Woolton ~ Ernest Worthington
$12.00 – $13.00Mellow, minty and bright. Inspired by Oscar Wilde’s whimsical depictions of the English countryside, it’s the perfect tisane for a post-meal treat.
Named for Ernest Worthington’s estate, Woolton is zesty enough for the adventure of early afternoon and light enough for the waning of late evening. Contains only dry herbs and spices, milled in small batches. No caffeine ~ No aromatic oils. Just earnest flavor to offer a reprieve.

A most tasty and satisfying tea! I admit, I bought it for the name (I collect Sherlockian teas), but now I drink it for pleasure and will certainly order more. This is really well balanced, with a surprising depth. Even brewed strong it doesn’t get bitter, and stands up well to milk. The flavour profile is complex and pleasing–no standout notes but, instead, smooth and refreshing from first to last. After trying dozens of “novel-teas,” it’s lovely to finally have a go-to Sherlockian tea. (And FWIW it also works day-old and iced.)
