Buttermilk Ranch Dressing
$10.00 – $27.00This dressing has become so popular in bottles, many of us have forgotten the simple, low-fat taste of freshly made ranch dressing. Our blend, highlighting the fresh flavors of bell pepper and cracked black pepper will bring you back to a simpler time. Blend 3/4t of spice blend with 1T of water; let sit for five minutes. Stir in 1/4 cup buttermilk and 1/4 cup nonfat yogurt (use mayo for a more traditional flavor). Use as a salad dressing or dip for fresh vegetables. Keeps up to one week in the refrigerator.
Hand blended in small batches with pepper, onion, sea salt, garlic, bell pepper, celery seed, chives and thyme.
French Vinaigrette
$10.00 – $27.00Traditional French meals are completed by serving a simple salad course, frequently just lettuce or frisee leaves moistened by a very light vinaigrette. Our French Vinaigrette Dressing is authentically based on shallots, milled mustard seed, and French herbs. After mixing (directions below), pour some dressing into the bottom of your salad bowl before adding the dry lettuce. Toss and enjoy. Also makes a wonderful marinade for asparagus, broccoli, or green beans. Bon appetit!
Traditional French dressing or vegetable marinade directions: Mix 2T Blend with 2T water, let stand 5 minutes to rehydrate. Whisk in ½ cup olive oil & 1/4 to 1/3 cup vinegar (typically sherry vinegar, wine vinegar, or our personal favorite, champagne vinegar).
Hand blended in small batches: shallots, sea salt, mustard, black pepper, and tarragon.
Quick Tips:
- Toss some French Vinaigrette Spice Blend on white fish before grilling or pan-frying.
Stinson Rub
$10.50 – $28.35Named after Northern California’s most popular beach, this blend of herbs & Ancho Chiles complements without overpowering. It delivers herb & berry tones, overlying the earthy Ancho flavor w/minimal bite. Use as dry-rub on steaks, chops, chicken, or full-flavored fish like salmon.
Hand blended in small quantities: Ancho Chile, garlic, onion, sea salt, pepper, mustard, cumin, coriander, thyme, sage, and marjoram.
Ancho Chile Pepper
$5.50 – $11.50The Ancho Chile is the dried version of the Poblano Pepper and the most popular dried chile in Mexican cooking. The sweetest of dried peppers, with deep, rich berry flavors, mild bitterness, and mild to medium hotness, Ancho is frequently used as the base flavor of sauce and spice mixes like dry rubs or mole. We stem and partially seed our Anchos by hand before milling to provide the strongest Chile flavors without being overpowered by excessive heat. Try replacing paprika with Ancho Chile Powder in any recipe to bring a fuller, earthier Chile flavor and beckoning for you to take another bite.
Sazón
$10.00 – $27.00A staple of Spanish, Mexican and Caribbean cooking, Sazón delivers the tangy, earthy flavor of Axiote with Coriander, Garlic and Salt, as well as a lovely red coloring. We developed our recipe with a friend from Puerto Rico who made sure we were consistent with the flavors she grew up with. Use as a rub on proteins and vegetables, or add to soups and sautées for color and a comforting flavor. Add Sazón to rice for an authentic Spanish rice.
Hand blended in small batches with: axiote seed, sea salt, coriander, garlic, pepper, turmeric, paprika, cumin, and oregano.
Deborah Novachick –
Delicious rub for baked or grilled salmon! Great mixed into flour for sautéed tilapia too. And, of course on shrimp and crab. I also put it on chickpeas!
