Local Spicery, a family-owned spice company, is looking for energetic foodies (or wannabe foodies) to join our spice team.  We have openings for part-time retail associates in our Tiburon Store. Ideal candidates are energetic, outgoing, and interested in everything, most importantly food and cooking. Demonstrated interest and/or prior experience in the food industry a plus. Verifiable references required, as well as the ability to achieve a California Food Handlers Card (we can help with this).  Weekends required.

General requirements:

• Retail Associate (Ark Row Tiburon).
• Part-time; ability to work weekends required. One to three days/week.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills required.
• Must be dependable, trustworthy, and conscientious.
• Must be a motivated self-starter, able to work alone, and willing to ask questions.
• Must have very high standards with demonstrated commitment to achieving high quality in all work.
• Must be a problem solver, be able to think outside the box, and have a good attitude.
• Passion for high-quality food and cooking a plus.
• Experience with POS systems required; experience with Square a plus.

Primary responsibilities include:

• Customer service.
• Customer service.

• Operating Square register (primarily credit cards) including end-of-day reconciliation.
• Keeping store clean and organized, including stamping bags, cutting tissue, sweeping, dusting, etc.
• Opening and closing store.
• Building and restocking gift boxes.
• Stocking/maintaining inventory of spices, teas, and retail merchandise.
