The classic kid-friendly party cookie that has lasted throughout the ages, given the equally classic twist of peanut butter! If you’re hoping for a more spiced-up version of this, try adding a pinch of cinnamon to the mix- or apple pie spice, if you’re so inclined.
Ingredients:
- ¼ cup peanut butter
- ½ cup crisco or butter
- 1 ¼ cup light brown sugar
- 3 tbsp milk
- 1 tbsp vanilla
- 1 egg
- 1 ¾ cup flour
- ¾ tsp salt
- ¾ tsp baking soda
- 1 cup M&Ms
Preparation:
- Preheat oven to 375ºF. Combine peanute butter, crisco, brown sugar, milk, and vanilla. Beat until well-blended. Add egg and beat until well-blended.
- Combine flour, salt, baking soda. Add to creamed mixture at low speed. Mix until blended. Fold in M&Ms. Drop by teaspoonful onto ungreased cookie sheet.
- Bake 7-8 minutes. Cool 2 minutes before removing from cookie sheet. Yields about 3 dozen cookies.
