Liz’s Peanut Butter M&M Cookies

The classic kid-friendly party cookie that has lasted throughout the ages, given the equally classic twist of peanut butter!  If you’re hoping for a more spiced-up version of this, try adding a pinch of cinnamon to the mix- or apple pie spice, if you’re so inclined.

Ingredients:

  • ¼ cup peanut butter
  • ½ cup crisco or butter
  • 1 ¼ cup light brown sugar
  • 3 tbsp milk
  • 1 tbsp vanilla
  • 1 egg
  • 1 ¾ cup flour
  • ¾ tsp salt
  • ¾ tsp baking soda
  • 1 cup M&Ms

Preparation:

  1. Preheat oven to 375ºF. Combine peanute butter, crisco, brown sugar, milk, and vanilla. Beat until well-blended. Add egg and beat until well-blended.
  2. Combine flour, salt, baking soda. Add to creamed mixture at low speed. Mix until blended. Fold in M&Ms. Drop by teaspoonful onto ungreased cookie sheet.
  3. Bake 7-8 minutes. Cool 2 minutes before removing from cookie sheet. Yields about 3 dozen cookies.
