Leslie’s French Lace Cookies


  • 1 cup flour
  • 1 cup finely chopped pecans and walnuts
  • ½ cup corn syrup
  • ½ cup shortening
  • 2/3 cup brown sugar, packed


  1. Preheat oven to 375ºF. Blend flour and nuts. Bring corn syrup, shortening, and sugar to boil in sauce pan over medium heat; gradually stir in flour and nuts.
  2. Drop batter by the teaspoon 3 inches apart on greased baking sheet. Bake 5-6 minutes (only 8-9 cookies at a time). Remove from oven and allow to stand 3 minutes before removing from baking sheet. Yields about 4 dozen cookies.
