Umami Bouillon (broth powder) with no added salt! Add 1 Tablespoon to 1 Cup boiling water for a quick, nourishing umami flavored broth. Hand blended in small batches with veggies, herbs and spices: carrot, onion, tomato, bell pepper, Chiles, porcini, mustard, parsley, cumin, and thyme.

This fiery spice blend is used in many Ethiopian dishes. Builds a powerful curry sauce and doubles as a rub on meats and vegetables. Great addition to a Bloody Mary, sweet potato and cob corn.

Mild aromatic curry from South Africa for fish, chicken and veggies. Named after an area of Cape Town, Bo-Kaap Curry dishes are generally made using fresh vegetables, fish or meat. Not as hot as traditional Indian curries, the rich and full body flavor of Bo-Kaap Curry is enhanced by fresh flavorful ingredients. Serve with rice.

From the capitol of France, these “Bonnes Herbes de Paris” are an aromatic, satisfying blend of French herbs, popular in the central and northern regions of France. Based on the herbal flavors of Tarragon and Basil, and highlighted with aromatic chives, this highly versatile blend can be added to egg, meat and vegetable dishes, as well as used as a finishing spice, or a dry rub for chicken, fish or vegetables. Perfect for roasted game hens or egg dishes. To make a simple balsamic vinaigrette, mix 2T Bonnes Herbes with 1/4 cup balsamic vinegar & 1/3 cup of olive oil.

Red Lentil Chili Seasoning
Chef AJ’s UWL Recipe
An SOS-free blend developed for Chef AJ’s Red Lentil Chili (replace all spices in Chef AJ’s recipe with 5T seasoning). A great all-around chili blend for soups, veggies, legumes and starches. Available in large jar (~5/8 cup) only. Hand blended in small batches: parsley, oregano, our Guajillo Chili Powder bend (chiles, garlic, cumin, Ceylon cinnamon, coriander, smoked paprika, black pepper, oregano), smoked paprika, and chiles.
Black Bean Soup
Chef AJ’s UWL Recipe
An SOS-free blend developed for Chef AJ’s Black Bean Soup recipe (replace all spices in recipe with 2T plus 2t seasoning). A flavorful general seasoning for soups, veggies, legumes and starches. Available in large jar (~ 5/8 cup) only. Hand blended in small batches: cumin, oregano, smoked paprika, and chiles.

This classic Chinese blend combines the flavors of sweet, salty, sour, bitter and pungent, to nourish and satisfy. Some say the name refers to the five elements – wood, fire, earth, metal, and water – needed to restore balance. Use as dry rub for proteins and starches, add to stir fries or soups, rice dishes and marinades.

Edible kelp used in Japanese cuisine to make dashi, a nutritious all purpose kombu soup stock. Use also to season sushi rice, to add an umami flavor to your cooking, or to ease digestion with dried bean dishes. Our Kombu is wild harvested off the coast of Maine. It provides high concentrations of iodine, calcium, potassium, iron, carotene, and B vitamins.
